    Rio de Janeiro

Rio was an amazing trip. We decided to take the night bus there and arrived early morning, so I got to catch a glimpse of the numerous favelas that are always shown in movies. It was great to be able to see what all the fuss about Ipanema and Copacabana are about. They are really amazing beaches which are located right in front of the town and very accessible. I can see why people there are known to be more relaxed than the rest of Brazil.

The best part about it was that the natives were taking me around and I got to experience things that others could overlook. Scoring those Flamengo tickets sealed the deal for me and to sit in South America’s largest stadium, Maracana, was a sight to behold.

The only thing I missed amongst the array of Brazilian food was the Feijoada which originated from Portugal, but Brazilians consider it their national dish. Although, I did have plenty of Acai, Caiprinha, Guarana, Moqueca and Pastels to name a few. All in all, they eat VERY healthy in Brazil and everywhere you look people are always exercising.

    Loews Miami Beach

Our little two day trip to Loews Miami was really a great change of atmosphere. We took the Greyhound bus there in the early hours of morning. Actually it was only a few hours after work had finished and we had packed during the day before.
Greyhound is probably one of the worst transportation service that I have ever used and when they overbook (which is ALL the time) and you turn up late, there is nothing you can do except wait for the next bus which could be hours after.

    Latitudes

We hit Latitudes in downtown Orlando pretty often on Wednesdays because the club two floors below it (Chillers) has $1 beers and gets packed. Latitudes is great because it’s upstairs on the rooftop and open air. You have really fun people there that aren’t too good for the rest of the world.
The last time we went was with a few of the new co-workers although the Florida rain wasn’t the best of to the night!
